CAMDEN – The Camden Opera House at 29 Elm Street continues its SoundCheck performance series on Friday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. with Gintaré, presenting his original compositions and songs and performing on the opera’s Steinway piano.
The Opera uses a choice of ticketing software that creates a distance between the two rows, as well as inserting a few seats on either side of each party’s reservation, for comfortable spacing.
Gintaré is an international recording artist, performing artist and contemporary composer / pianist / singer / programmer whose solo albums include “Earthless” and “Feathermark”. Born in the fourth generation of an academic family of musicians, her training in piano, composition and singing began at the age of 3.
Still performing under her first name, Gintaré went from a classically trained musician and teenage pop star in her native Lithuania to a successful 12-year career in England, during which she was signed by Sony and EMI Records. She worked with the late Elton producer John Gus Dudgeon to create 2000s “Earthless” which appeared on the international pop music charts and became a hit in dance clubs in London.
Tickets cost $ 10 and advance purchase is encouraged via camdenoperahouse.com and 207-236-3154. Wearing a face covering in the building is also encouraged. This show is sponsored by Lord Camden Inn. The doors will open at 7 p.m.
SoundCheck is also streamed live on the COH Facebook page. For the full lineup and to donate to the Community Arts Fund that makes it all possible, visit www.camdenoperahouse.com.
