Christina Erskine joined Warner Music as SVP Marketing & Promotions Australasia.
With over 17 years of experience in the entertainment industry in Australia, New Zealand and Asia, Erskine most recently served as Director of Engagement at the Sydney Opera House, where she led the teams. internal marketing, communication and strategic events.
Erskine held several leadership positions during his eight-year tenure at the Opera.
Among those roles was that of Chief Marketing Officer, where she worked with producers of contemporary and classical music, commercial performing arts, children’s and family programming, talks and ideas, d First Nations works and digital programming.
While there, Erskine led his team by jointly winning awards such as the Australian Marketing Team of the Year Mumbrella, a Gold and Bronze LION at the Cannes Festival of Creativity and, most recently, the TimeOut TimeIn Award for the digital programming of the Opera. in 2020.
Earlier in her career, she helped shape the marketing, communications and branding program for brands such as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production company (Cats, The Phantom of the Opera) and events company for IMG / BBC (Top Gear Festival).
Along with Erskine’s appointment as SVP Marketing and Promotions, Cathy Oates also joined the company as the new Head of Marketing – Australian Artists.
With a continued focus on the national roster, Oates will oversee the marketing strategy of Australian national and international artists within the company.
Oates’ experience in the Australian music industry comes as an artist manager and music marketing consultant through his company Original Matters, which represents artists such as Kira Puru, Megan Washington and Alex the Astronaut.
Oates also previously worked at EMI Music Australia for six years.
Her last role at EMI Music Australia was in charge of Capitol Records, and before that she worked at Sony Music Australia.
With the arrival of Oates to oversee WMA’s National Artists, Dan Ellis has been appointed Marketing Manager – International Artists.
Ellis will be responsible for Warner Music Group’s international roster in Australia. In addition, Anne Combe, with more than 25 years of experience at WMA, becomes Head of Marketing – Strategic.
Finally, Rich Wiles was also named WMA’s Head of Audience.
With over 15 years of experience at the intersection of technology and content for global media brands in the entertainment industry, Wiles is a âhighly experienced digital leader,â says Warner Music.
In his last role as Chief Digital Officer for BBC Studios ANZ, Wiles was responsible for digital content and multi-channel marketing strategy, growing his audience through content and driving digital transformation and innovation across the company.
Previously, Wiles led Disney Media Networks’ digital strategy in ANZ and was responsible for establishing Disney’s digital footprint by developing product and editorial content across multiple platforms.
