Against the Grain Theater to air ‘Messiah / Complex’ this holiday season

Against the Grain Theater has announced that it will be bringing back its famous recording of “Messiah / Complex” for the holiday season.

The unique arrangement of the timeless masterpiece will begin airing on AtG TV on December 12, 2021 and will be available until January 9, 2022. The work is co-directed by Joel Ivany and Reneltta Arluk and features 12 soloists and four choirs. The work is presented in a wide range of languages, including Arabic, Dene, English, French, Inuktitut and Southern Tutchone. Johannes Debus conducts the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

In addition, the company will partner with Opera Inreach to offer two school choirs across Canada the opportunity to perform in a professional music video for the Hallelujah Chorus which will premiere alongside the “Messiah / Complex”.
